Azuza Font Family

Categories: Dutch Old Style
Azuza is a Latin serif typeface designed by Jim Parkinson. It incorporates features of the Linotype Legibility Series of newspaper typefaces, such as a high lower-case x-height and short ascenders and descenders, in a clean, modern design. Designed as a text face, Azuza also works well at display sizes. Azuza is a variation of the text family designed by Jim Parkinson for the San Francisco Chronicle in the 1990s. Some italic characters were inspired by Electra Italic by W.A. Dwiggins, one of Jim Parkinson’s favorite type designers.
