Modern™ 2 Family was based on News 23 and 28, the newspaper faces developed in the 1890s by Edinburgh's Miller & Richards foundry. A rounded, open design with flowing italics, Modern 2 Family is warm and inviting, with great attention given to its contrasting fine hairlines and generous but delicate serifs. An outstanding example of the Modern style of type design - incredibly popular in America and Great Britain at the time - this particular cut of Modern is an elegant and subtle variation on the theme.
