Plantin Font > Plantin Headline Light Condensed Font

Released by Monotype in 1913 under the direction of Frank Hinman Pierpont, Plantin Headline™ Light Condensed is based on a late roman design by famed sixteenth-century French punchcutter Robert Granjon. Christophe Plantin of Antwerp was one of the most important printers of the sixteenth century. Although not a type designer or typefounder himself, his namesake typefaces were so titled due to the important role he played in forming our rich typographic traditions. Plantin Headline™ Light Condensed was deemed to have great potential for use with modern printing techniques, and that still holds true. Plantin's sturdy, economical forms are easy to read and appealing on the page. Plantin Headline™ Light Condensed is an excellent book face, and the bolder weights work beautifully for display purposes. Character Set: Latin-1
