Porkshop is based on signage. Chank was stuck in Manhattahan traffic, waiting to go through the Holland Tunnel when he saw a place called PorkShop. He admired the funny serifs and how the letters randomly alternated between upper and lowercase. The character shapes stuck in Chank's head for a few years until he made the porkshop in 1998 and released it in 1999.
