Andale Sans font family is a highly legible sans serif typeface also designed by Steve Matteson as a proportional font, and compliments the Andale Mono family. The Andalé or Andale font design was originally created by Monotype, as part of Andalé font families.

The Andalé Mono font family (also known as Andale Mono font family) is a monospaced sans-serif typeface designed by Ascender Corporation’s own, Steve Matteson (at the time with Monotype.com) for terminal aspiration and software development platforms, originally for the Taligent project by Apple Inc. and IBM.

The Andale font design was originally created by Monotype, as part of Andalé font families. The Andale font typeface is used by programmers in text editors and IDEs for its legibility and easily identifiable characters.

Andale Mono font was first distributed as an Internet Explorer 4.0 add-on, originally under the name Monotype.com. In version 1.25 of the font, it was renamed to Andale Mono, distributed with Internet Explorer 5.

While the Andale font is no longer distributed with modern versions of Microsoft Windows (from Windows ME onwards) it is still available on Ascenderfonts for download and it is bundled with Mac OS X.

Andale Sans font family is a highly legible sans serif typeface also created by Steve Matteson as a proportional font, and compliments the Andale Mono family.
