With Spring right around the corner not only does it bring us frozen folks here in Chicago the hope for some warmer weather, but it also brings St. Patrick's Day and Easter. This month we are pleased to feature a variety of new fonts from our expanding collection of type foundries located around the world. We hope you also enjoy some of our favorite fonts to help you celebrate this month’s holidays and events.
We’re proud to offer a unique font this month for a wonderful cause. Coming-Together is a font that contains over 400 ampersands contributed by almost 400 different type designers from 37 countries around the globe. 100% of the proceeds raised from the sale of the Coming Together font will be donated to Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) to help the people of Haiti recover from the devastating earthquake.
The Colmcille Font Family is filled with gaelic elegance and historic charm. This font family is perfect for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations and gatherings. Also available is Colmcille Ornaments, a picture font for making Celtic styled borders and decorations.
NEW! The Sassoon Infant Font Family was developed based upon the research of by Dr. Rosemary Sassoon. Developed by Dr. Sassoon and Adrian Williams from ClubType, the fonts are used worldwide for teaching reading and handwriting in schools, and can be used in a variety of educational materials.
The Oblik typeface is part of the Tour De Force catalogue. The family contains 4 weights - Light, Regular, Bold and Black. Oblik features rounded shapes, with a modern, sophisticated personality. Another font brought to us from the Tour De Force gang, the Oblik Serif font family contains 3 weights - Light, Regular and Bold. The serifs give it a distinct definition from its Oblik Regular brother but it still contains the modern roundness and unique characters that make the Oblik Font Families stand out. Jokerman is a wild typeface full of life and character. Jokerman is a typeface that works well in both upper and lowercase and is packed with a variety of funky alternate letters. Get into your carnival spirit with this full on typeface!
Easterbuns is a fun, chunky font brought to us by the mighty Chank! Its rough, hand drawn characters make a great font for bold headings and poster designs.
Handset Condensed was developed for use on handheld devices and user interfaces that require fonts with optimal legibility. Handset Condensed was designed as an extension to the Droid font family, and is available in hinted TrueType format for maximum readability in Windows.
Grand Prairie is a fantastic woodcut type face designed by Nick Curtis of Nick’s Fonts. Due to the highly ornate nature of this font, it has a limited character set (no math operators or footnote accessories). Grand Prairie is a superb choice for ornate poster titles, sign work and a variety of specialized design projects.
Scruff is a carefree font designed by Tim Donaldson from Letraset. Created from a series of doodles on a note pad during a business meeting, Scruff is full of unique character and fun. A great choice for school projects or designs targeted at a mere “youthful” audience!
