Font Format Help

There are two different font formats - which one should I choose?

The choice of font format is mostly based on the kind of documents you create and your computer environment. Here are some general guidelines:

  1. TrueType (.TTF)

TrueType is the default font format of both Macintosh and Windows systems. For that reason TrueType is popular among home users, schools and businesses. If you don’t know much about fonts, you can’t go wrong with this format.

  2. OpenType (.OTF)

Graphic designers and creative professionals prefer OpenType fonts with PostScript® outlines. These fonts have a .OTF file extension.
